1 Easy Hack to Make Your Social Media Text Stand Out

Updated: Nov 8, 2021

How to Make Bold, Italics and Other Formatting Changes to Your Social Text

Have you been scrolling your social media feed and seen a post that has bold text or even something more exotic?

How did they do that?

It’s WAY easier than you think.

You can head to one of many websites where you just type in the text you want to modify and choose from a handful of different styles.

I have all my social media tools in one folder on my bookmarks bar. Included in that list right after CoSchedule’s Headline Studio and Social Optimizer is:

A quick Google search for “unicode text converters” will give you multiple options but I like the formatting of Convertcase’s best.

Here’s how it works.

Type in the text you want to convert. Either hit the “copy” button if they’ve got it or just highlight the format you want and paste it into your social media post.

Like any tool, we want to play, play, play.

Keep in mind that ultimately we want a message that we can read! Some of the formats are fun and may draw people in to decipher what we’ve said like a puzzle. If, however, there is a message you want to convey, avoid extensive use of the hard-to-read formats. They’re a heavier cognitive load and will lead to more folks scrolling on past.

This may not be the tool that revolutionizes your social media accounts and builds your audience like magic (that’s what GoGoPublish is for!). But anything that makes you stand out and communicates your message helps!

One big warning...most social media outlets won't include this text in their indexing/search. Make sure you don't put all your keywords and hashtags in this format.
