It’s time to go to work again today and you’re stuck in the repetitive act of going directly to the same old boring place to attend to your usual zoom calls. It’s becoming redundant and the four walls and scenery of your home office are becoming as plain and dull as the four walls of a cubicle. The routine is beginning to stifle your creativity and production. Take matters into your own hands and spice things up a notch to mesmerize yourself and your compadres in your next zoom meeting.
1. Park It Outside
Getting yourself outside into some sunlight will do wonders for your mood and your ability to produce. The single ingredient to help is produced by the sun. It’s good old vitamin D. Vitamin D is a nutrient you can absorb through the skin from sunlight and has been proven to combat anxiety and depression, fight disease, and even boost weight loss. These are some pretty amazing benefits by just finding a place to sit outside. It could be your backyard, front porch, or even head out into nature at a park. Get creative and soak in a new experience. It’ll even spark some new conversation on your zoom meetings in GoGoDone.
2. Rearrange The Office
Sometimes you’ll go into your regular neighborhood store and they have done some rearranging. It could be shuffling products from one end of the store to the other, adding some new colors and decorations to the scenery, or upgrading with new products and services. The little shifts get your attention and make you think and operate a little differently.
The same thing could be done in your home office by painting the walls a different color. While you're at it, why not switch out or add some new artwork to your walls. How about replacing your desk or furniture or adding a new plant to the room? You could even just turn the desk to have a slightly different angle. The new angles you provide to your office will change your perspective on things just like what happens when you go to the store and things have been shifted in a new way. The change and new perspective can stimulate you to work with new enthusiasm or get you out of a rut. We’ll talk more about this in a future article.
3. Theme the Crap Out of Your Environment
Each month get with your zoom crew and decide on a theme for the month. The theme could be a certain culture, holiday, sports team, color of the month, favorite food, etc. The list can go on and on. Once you have the theme, start adding some flair to your office with a background poster or quote, knick-knacks, outfits, or decorations. Get creative and inspire yourself and your zoom buddies. Make it fun and stimulate yourself to work with newfound vigor.
It really can be that simple. Try it and see what happens!
